Custom POP Displays Award Won by McIntyre Manufacturing

We’re pleased to announce that we were recently recognized with a bronze Outstanding Merchandise Achievement (OMA) Custom POP Displays award in the permanent display category for work we did for Freaker USA.

The Shop! OMA Awards recognize excellent custom POP displays that set the merchandising and design precedents of today.

Established in 2011 and located in Wilmington, North Carolina, Freaker USA is the leading manufacturer of one-size-fits-all beverage insulators. They also sell other items, such as quality socks, featuring the company’s trademark witty designs. When we worked with Freaker USA, we knew we wanted to provide a product that was as innovative and creative as they are.

As a part of this project, we shipped enough components for 150 displays. It was important that each component was packed separately, which allowed for the modular design.

As a result, the client could ship varying display designs depending upon the layout of each store. This type of versatility is one of the key benefits of working with a company like McIntyre that specializes in custom POP displays. 

We wanted to create a look that was as unique as the products Freaker USA offers, so we used AstroTurf in the base and a lenticular graphic in the header.

A lenticular graphic changes as a customer walks around the display. This particular lenticular graphic had three separate images. 

One of the aspects that made the display a real hit with the judges was that as complete modular unit, this meant that it was easy to arrange the different product stock keeping units (SKU) using hook rows and shelves. This versatility means that these hook rows, shelves, and t-shirt arms can be used in standard slat wall if a certain retailer does not have floor space available.

This is a perfect a la carte example that demonstrates the advantages of custom POP displays. As they create new products and more SKUs, they will be able to continue using this display as the design allows for updates over time
